SPI Inflation Rises 9.29% as Onion and Chicken Prices Jump

Pakistan’s short-term inflation was recorded at 9.29% year-on-year for the week ending August 4, while the Sensitive Price Index was increased by 0.28% week-on-week, according to PBS. Price increases were recorded in onions 10.14%, chicken 9.19%, pulse gram 2.43%, chilli powder 1.01%, mustard oil 0.99%, Lipton tea 0.57%, wheat flour 0.52%, vegetable ghee 1kg 0.37%, firewood 0.32% and washing soap 0.08%. Meanwhile, prices were reduced for tomatoes 6.82%, LPG 1.90%, diesel 1.66%, bananas 1.20%, petrol 0.63%, sugar 0.51%, plain bread 0.29%, eggs 0.09% and potatoes 0.09%.

FBR Launches Risk-Based IRIS Screening
