Nishat Group Acquires 73.9% Stake in Rafhan Maize

Nishat Group has acquired a 73.9% controlling stake in Rafhan Maize Products Company Ltd, marking one of Pakistan’s largest corporate takeovers in the food processing sector. The deal ends Ingredion USA’s decades-long majority ownership and expands Nishat’s portfolio beyond textiles, banking, energy, automobiles, and hospitality into food ingredients and industrial starch.

Synergy Group Wins Seven Dragons

Synergy Group secured seven Honors at the Dragons of Pakistan 2026 Awards, earning three Gold, two Silver and two Bronze Dragons. The awards recognized campaigns developed by Synergy Advertising and Synite Digital for Pakistan State Oil and KFC Pakistan. Synergy Advertising won five awards for PSO’s Safety Starts Young, Made in Pakistan and Blaze Xtreme campaigns. Pakistan-Made Suzuki Cars Enter Brunei

Pakistan’s auto industry has achieved a major export milestone as Pak Suzuki Motor Company-made Alto and Every models were launched in Brunei. Suzuki said this marks its first export from an overseas production base of models matching the body size and engine specifications of Japanese mini-vehicles. The launch expands Suzuki’s automobile lineup in Brunei. Distributor Boustead will also begin selling Suzuki motorcycles in the country around autumn 2026.

PTA Fines Jazz Rs38.9m

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has fined Jazz Rs38.9 million over alleged violations involving approximately 400 corporate postpaid SIMs. Target Marketing claimed the SIMs were issued in its name without its consent and remained operational without its knowledge. The company also reportedly received a recovery notice for Rs626,360.48 in outstanding dues. PTA directed Jazz to deposit the penalty within 30 days, warning that failure to comply could trigger further legal proceedings.
