Razer Introduces Agentic AI Companion AVA With Local and Cloud Processing

Gaming technology company Razer is preparing to expand its artificial intelligence ambitions with the latest version of its AI assistant called AVA. The company plans to introduce new capabilities that allow the digital companion to operate as a fully agentic system capable of completing complex tasks across multiple applications.
The upcoming update will be presented during the Game Developers Conference Festival of Gaming. According to company executives, the upgraded AI companion will be able to understand user goals, organize workflows, and perform actions across connected services. This approach represents a major shift from traditional AI assistants that mainly provide text responses rather than performing real tasks on behalf of users.
The new system is designed to run both locally on personal computers and through cloud infrastructure. This hybrid architecture is expected to improve response times while also reducing the computing costs associated with cloud based AI processing.
AI Companion Designed to Move Beyond Chat Responses
Razer first introduced the AVA concept as a futuristic AI desk companion that could interact visually with users. Early demonstrations presented the assistant as a holographic style digital companion capable of providing guidance and information for gaming experiences.
The latest version of the platform significantly expands those capabilities. Instead of responding to simple prompts, the new agentic system can interpret user intent and execute multiple steps to complete a request.
For example, if a user asks the AI to update an expense report, the assistant could open the appropriate application, capture required information, and insert the data automatically. This type of automation represents the core concept behind agentic AI systems that perform multi step actions rather than delivering single responses.
According to Razer executives, the goal is to transform AVA into a practical everyday assistant that supports both professional tasks and gaming related workflows. By integrating these capabilities, the AI companion can act on behalf of the user while providing visual feedback during task execution.
